(22 Sept) Considering there were 5 birds here, I'd say that adds 8 1247 to the list of breeder 88 here, thus 88 = 579, 995, 1123, 1247 (even tho I didn't ID 1247)
23 Sept Twice today I've seen birds at/in the hole
26 Sept 1500 Climbed. 4 warm, opaque eggs. LED = 23 Sept
2 Oct 0915 Climbed. No baby sounds (didn't actually open) Adult birds were not shy and hung about vocalizing. About hatch?
4 Oct 1130 Climbed - empty. Maybe that's what they were upset about on 2 Oct.
6 Oct 1600 LB-R/M 8, also NOBA 9 (actually J) coming into 4 plumage. I also saw M/DB-R
Dare I theorize? The nest was emptied, but the door was undisturbed, even though rickety (: not mammal [?]) But snakes in October? Na. It was murder by new 9 (?) But these 88?
7 Oct 0730-0930 The 9 here is H9 From Fuch 1333
There is also the NOBA J9. The 8 situation is stickier: Saw: 8 579 (I think), 8 KON W (1011?B) 8 YLB 8 YWR, 8 LBO/M; There was intermittent chasing here, but nothing too violent. They were pretty content to store acorns or be with each other.
Update * 1336 DE-BPW/LP Connie, 87/114, this bird hadn't been seen since banding at R1, but, as his brothers are breeders Wolf Group is 9 1333 (Fuch H, now Wolf B) as of F 87/1007. 88 579, 995, 1123, 1247, 1336. [Also concerning 1336, the R1 x Wolf censuses were very poor last winter (Katy)]
13 Dec Acorn Count: syc = 40, oak 170, oak on W side 75.
