1987 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus CVL HNHR 7 Jan 1400 Acorn Count: 302 11 Jan 1600 Saw two, maybe 3 birds. ♂ 1089 and a ♀ that refused to show her bands. 2 Feb 1200 I think I saw ♂ 1089 here, but I also definitely saw a 2nd ♂ here ♂ 967 from Murf here in the granary. He flew up to Murf knoll and joined 3 other birds. I followed observed a chase, and then gave up as the birds flew off and the rain began to fall. What's going on here? 11 Feb 0845 Acorn Count: 371 25 Feb 1000 Weirdness. ♂ 967 From Murf was sitting peaceably w 1089 and a ♀ (I thought was the CVI) ♀. However, she wouldn't show her bands, and followed 967 back to Murf. 1089 sat quietly alone for several minutes, then a VOID bird landed in the tree. 1089 flew up beside (very close) this bird for about 20 sec. Then hell broke loose. There was a mini-power struggle taking place for about 2 min. Murf birds seemed not to be involved. Then the 3 intruders (one was unbarked? ♀) fl ew off in the direction of Blm 3 or Raj. One stayed behind (♀) and is in the top of nearby tree (10 mins) Then she (?) and another bird nearby flew to cvl. I heard Fuss, then things were quiet. I got here and 1089 and (945) are in the tree, And so is a VOID ♂!
