1987 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Blm! (16 May) another bird who just sat forever in the goavary. Starlings are everywhere, back in all the holes I cleaned them out of. End sentence w preposition. 10 June 1330 Bird in low snag hole. No eggs. 13 June 1515 Helloed hole, nothing. 15 June 1530 Well, I should have checked it on 13 June. 4 eggs. Look new. Cut open hole. One egg is huge. 19 June 1100 Still 4 eggs. Bird in hole. 1400 Acorn Count: 15 24 June 1500 Heard birds at Refute 1: who are they? Returned at 1630 - nothing. (No bird in hole at Blm!) NOBAG 25 June 0800 Eggs cold. All eggs were Fertile, but development ceased at early stage. Eggs very dif sizes! #1 28.0 x 21.3 (6.52) Removed eggs from nest. 7 #2 25.0 x 19.95 (5.15) .52 .59 #3 24.7 x 19.85 .48 = shell #4 24.1 x 19.5 .5! These eggs are stored in Fridge for future photographic use. 27 June 1300 ish. Saw 1167, but there also seems to be an extra bird here (Field lists only 2), or maybe this has something to do w the new group at "Central Canyon." 1 July 1115 Saw 9 1325 in nest snag. 3 July 1100 9 at high hole in nest snag. Did NSS measures 1115 a juvenile seen on Blm1 Knoll (not Far Knoll) I suppose it was a SHW baby.
