In my collections there is no difference whatever
between the Dictson plants and those from the
Tullahoma region.
Sept. 24 (Saturday),
Solidago ulmifolia, described by Willdenow
from a Specimen in his herbarium showing broad
leaves like those of S. patula ["folia radicalia
exacte Chrysanthemi Leucanthemi"] but more deeply
pinnate. Could it be S. arguta? Which Willdenow
knew any from description? Gray Proc. Acad.
xvii, 184 (1882) writes "Dwarf and scanty specimen of
the Muhlenbergian species,".
