36 afforded me the pleasure I looked for, but nothing further of interest. Reached St. Andrews in early afternoon. April 19 (Sunday). Went post-congratulate at St. Andrews. Walked out to joinine backy school, and to fire tower. Almost nothing in bloom; a few V. pedata and V. sagittata, and in the ravine V. primulifolia, with Oenothera gauraepolia, Oakesia sessilifolia and V. populiaceae just coming into flower. Collected April 20 (Monday). With Bubble on the limestone slope below Monticello. Here were Phlox divaricata and great masses of Queenwella, also Undaria grandiflora, Caulo- phyllum thulictroides, with Trillium sessile, in flower can from Treen to Brize very abundant. J. grandi- florum was less abundant. April 20 (Monday). Our went through Shrewsbury Myxchaster. Visits barren at Cuttstone. April 21 (Tuesday). Left for Nashville. Nothing of interest until reaching the cedar glades and com- paratively little there. Saw a single plant of Kroelia five miles S. of Murfreesboro (near school), large-flowered Oxalis, Ligustrum albidum, Viola Eylesbonii. Because of rain he hurried to Nashville. April 22 (Wednesday). Visited Panthers and Andrew Jackson's home. Then collected around Vesta and to Trulore and L. Trellore Conchville Pitte where Leavenworthia stylous near a hundred. Stayed one nights at General Tail Inn.
