Finished descriptions and most of citations for E. microcarpa. Dec. 19. (Thursday). Received specimens (Fiji &.) from Smith; also a collection from Harper (Alabama). Finished descriptions & Citations for E. Baldwinii & E. albida. 1926. Jan. 6 (Monday). Write descriptions of E. hildebrandtii and E. Brainii, species. Identified Underwood's Tennessee material: Potamogeton epiphyllus var. Nuttallii from N.C., previously known from that region; P. diversifolius, not previously known from the Cumberland or East Tennessee; Solideps Brevi (the southern representative of S. juncea); S. strita (The southern contracted phase of E. speciosa). Jan. 7 (Tuesday). Continued Underwood's material: Callitriche heterophylla; Philystia autumnalis (the northern form); Elodearis in- ternedia; Orianthus obovatus. Elcharis: description & bibliography of E. tuberculosa. Jan. 8 (Wednesday). Underwood's material: Steironema angustifolia (S. lanceolata var. a. Gray) (Lysimachia a. Lamarck). This is apparently the correct name for the narrow-leaved plant of the Alleghenes, with basal leaves a little broader, and with petals shorter
