1985 Mark Stanback M. formicivorus CV2 Hastings Reservation 27 May 1000 - 1130 Searched for CV2 Nest. Ventured up "canyon" to NE of where nest failed! I heard birds (+ saw) up there, but found no nest (though I did find holes). 5 June 1530 - 1630 Observed nest. No birds came. No birds even heard in vicinity (except for some vocalizations to the N i.e. up valley) 1630 - 1700 observed main granary and surrounding area. No sign of activity. 28 June 1600 Noisy babies! 1 July 1200 1118 D. Blue - L. Blue / D. Blue - L. Blue white - Black / L. Blue - Yellow 1119 74.9 (72) Red - D. Blue / white - Red Yellow - L. Green / Yellow - L. Green 1120 77.0 (57) L. Blue / L. Blue Mauve / Black - white 1121 57.0 (55) L. Green / L. Green Black - L. Blue / D. Blue - L. Pink 1122 76.5 (73) White - L. Green / White - L. Green J. Green / Orange 19 July 1400 Keyhole chunk was 1/2 out. I climbed to fix it. No activity. Remains of dead baby (Feathers) near nest. I did hear some "babies" in area. Lots of acorns stored.
