26 May spent several hours in afternoon looking for nest. Nope
27 May 1200 Found nest! in tree
in meadow NW of their "main"
Nest tree is last tree
on edge of knoll. To determine As viewed from CV 2
status I watched it for .5 hr.
1230 start
1245 ♂ arrives. Sits outside, looks in, enters, stays in
@ 30 sec. Leaves
1247 ♀ arrives. Sits outside, looks in, enters, stays in.
1249 ♂ arrives, sits outside, looks in, leaves
1300 ♀ still inside. I think I can see her inside
the hole (the white of her throat), but she
never sticks head out. No birds observed to
carry food to hole
3 June 1135 ♀ went to hole (that I cut out several days
ago), looked in, flew away
1138 ♀ entered hole. Appeared soon afterward
dumping sawdust (from me) out. She did this
3 times
1142 ♀ left hole, seen sitting with a ♂. No
bands read on either, but I'm far away
1150 ♀ seen in hole again
6 June 1400 no bird in hole (there was one last evening)
