5 July 0630-0730 Up to 4 BLM 3 birds were seen
at one time this morning, both in the
snag midway between BLM 2 and BLM 3
proper and at BLM 2 proper. One ♀ seemed
to frequent BLM 2. At most two
birds were seen in the tree containing BLM 3's
failed nest.
0830-1000 Census: Adults: 5194, 768
945, 989. Babies: 1055, 1056. Census took
place at the big "bare tree between BLM 2
and blm 3. The birds seemed to be
spending about equal time at BLM 2 +
3. As I left and went by BLM 3, 4
birds flushed.

0530 After the ambush didn't close right, I assumed
it was a lost cause. However, at 0530 I
returned and flushed 2 birds from the hole - they
barely made it out so I tightened the string, locking
3 more inside. The ♀ that I was after was
apparently one of the escapees. I did catch
