1985 Mark Stanback M. forniciorus BLM! Hastings Reservation 10 June 0800 Hole is in the more S of the 2 lone trees to the W of the granary. Hole is in Kurt hole very low to the ground. View from N [illegible] big roots in big tree 12 June 1145 watched hole described on 10 June and the hole that group was showing interest in several weeks ago. No birds seen at any hole. Checked abandoned nest from ground. No birds. I checked the 10 June hole. It is deep and goes straight into the mass of the trunk. I need the peeper to check out the inside. Is it too thick to cut? 16 June 0800 Begin watch 0830 ♂ flew to low hole in tree between mud pond and abandoned nest (ie the hole that the birds were working on on 21 May) He looked in once but mostly just sat outside and looked around. After 5 minutes he flew back to the granary. 0855 heard birds on BLM knoll.
