3 July Pipeline birds are hanging out at Blm ! See notes!
25 July 1600 Added 400 valley oak acorns to the artificial
granary here. There have not been any birds
seen here in awhile. The granary was empty
(totally) when I climbed the tree.
26 July 0800-0900 well, well. I guess that even if
a group abandons its territory, it keeps tabs
on it as well. There were 3 birds here
upon arrival (the ub 4, babies 1316 r (1317)
The ub 4 showed up around 0830,
was present 4/1 I left at 0900. There
were 3 intruders. One was a ♂ with
* M/Bk-W(♀). It sat quietly at the
periphery and left after about 10 min. Another
* intruder was a ♂ w M/Bk-O or maybe
M/Bk-Pink. He landed in the granary and
was chased away by the ub 4. A third
intruder (unidentified) landed beside the
2 babies and was chased by them. In general
the Pipe birds seemed quite in control and at home.
They were not removing many of my acorns (r
those removed were restored)
* ♂ 1183 a pipe bird - not seen since April
* Baby 1315 from gate (but with adult eyes)
