1986 M Stanback M. Formicivorus CV Z HULR 25 July 25 July 1400 At least 2 birds here - plenty of stored acorns. Aug 6 Roost watch: no one showed up at all Tried to census here, but 2 coopers hawks were hanging out. Two birds were in the fallen (half) tree, but they flew to OKCO 11 Aug 7 MV/ BY, NOBA 8, NOBA baby, MV/A Fuck rapidographs! 25 Sept 1500 There are birds here - I saw a NOBA 8 and a 9 who didn't want to show her legs. But the weirdest! Over the ridge that lies between CVZ and OKCO there were, upon my arrival at 4:00 at least 6 Lewis Wp flying around in circles, as if they were mobbing or Flycatching, but were doing neither. For 15 min there were birds wheeling about over that small area constantly. They would land, then take off again. After 15 min it fizzled out and there were no birds to be seen. Then at 4:19 a single LWP flew up, circled a time or so, flew high (higher than an ACW ever went) and then flew S toward (- down?) Dark Hol Oh yes, at one point, an ACW got involved in the circling, briefly.
