1986 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus CXI MURF HNHR (27 May) 0800 At one point a 9 (that seemed to be banded) drank From the knot hole, then flew up to BLM 3 (the nest tree maybe even) Remember, I have noticed CVI birds quite a ways up toward BLM 3. There is a group of birds farther up the knoll from CVI's recent nest. Are These CVette birds? (28 May) 0800 - 0845 Nest searching again. These 99s are not unbanded. Shit! Always do a nest watch at every nest for a census (before they Fail) There are at least 2 99s here, one has green on left maybe, and another has R-O(U)TO (for sure) Earlier during this watch I thought I saw ME O Bk. I saw a 8 with M- W- 29 May 0600 - The birds are interested in a knot-hole in the poison oak tree beside the old nest tree. I dont think they are drinking. 2 88 and a 9 were seen to go into it during about 1 min. Their bills didn't seem to be wet, though I did see a bird "smacking" his bill after coming out. At one point there were 5 birds together in the sycamore, but I was chased so I don't know how legit the count is. I saw 8 966, 8967, 9 NO and 9 O/LB-DB. Very vocal today. 0745 A bird flew from CVI to BLM 3
