1986 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Y H.N.H.R. (8 Dec) is over at the 'new' granary (henceforth called "Y-not" 9 Dec 1645. A 9 seen at bavn locust. Bands were [illegible] 9. W-B/m [1149] - From Plge. Another W-B/O ACW was heard in sycamores toward Ynot. It's its getting dark. These guys must like it here. 10 Dec 1100 heard birds at Y-not. 1320 (N Popkin) - 1500. It seems to be Plge ♂♂ helpers vs the Y 9 here. They attack her repeatedly. She was noisy (wakas, karrit-cats, and even garricks!) Before Nancy started I (us) saw a ♂ store an acorn from Y-not in a nearby sycamore. Nancy reports helper ♂♂'s taking acorns back to Plge. Shit, don't they Know she's hot-to-trot? Bird 1150 was especially mean to her. Birds seen: 9 675, ♂ 1150, ♂ 1069, ♂ 721 (hey! a breeder!). He was only rarely seen though. One mystery bird LP-W/LB-Y. 1700 Birds still here as I pass P.S. Nancy reports 9 675 working on a roost hole in an OAK beside the Y-not granary. 14 Dec All acorns gone From Y-not. Assume Y has O acorns 1700 Bird sitting alone at Locust. Presume Y 9.
