15 April 1200-1220 Looked around for nest.
Nothing definite, but I did see a hole
in the main tree facing N that looked
like it had undergone recent work.
1 May 1000-1100 hid under a bush. A couple of
birds came - none to hole. I climbed to the
new hole - no babies, but having no peeper
I don't know if it's empty or eggs or what.
7 May 1030 checked that nice hole in the 'hole' tree.
Empty. But claw marks at door.
1 June 1245-1330 Hid near nest tree, waited. A
bird or two showed up, but just played w acorus.
At 1330 I climbed the tree or peeped several
holes. I saw/heard nothing, but that plastic
mirror sux.
9 June 1515-1600 Watched for a nest for ½ hr,
then climbed + peeped some holes. There are
at least 3 birds here. Last year's nest is
empty. The 'nice' hole I've been watching
all [illegible] season has mice in it.
