1985 Mark Stanback M. [illegible] BKO K HNHR (26 June) I found 7 eggs - which seemed a little cool to the touch - reminding me that I didn't see a bird in the hole upon arrival. But then again. She/he may have flushed while I was approaching and not looking. The egg sizes were 25.0 x 20.3 25.4 x 18.3 23.5 x 19 36.4 x 18 19.2 x [illegible] 14.2 (runt) 23.2 x 18.2 24.5 x 19.7 Let's hope they don't abandon. 28 June 1030 bird seen flushing from nest (?) 3 July 0730 No bird at hole. Couldn't hear babies. 1030 Bird in hole. Checked nest - still eggs. 21 Aug 1015 No sign of a new nest anywhere. Few acorns stored. 27 Oct 0845-1800 426, 10049, 1005, 1007, 1009, 5207, 5208
