1983 R.C. Munne Melanerpes formicivorus Blom 3 5 Jan Walked by here, 1230. No activity at all in the area wbleter between Gazebo and Blom3, where lots of action occurred in Dec. 22 May Finally find the nest here, in the "upper" of the two 1982 nest holes in the Blue Oak. I climb up at 0830 and find 5 eggs, ~6-7 days along in incubation, meaning that 17 June will be a good day to band here. Interestingly, 4 of the eggs were quite round but the fifth was long + very narrow. Strange. 16 June 1730: Banded 4 healthy 18-day old (o-50) estlings, now Juvs. 910-913. Also in the nest was a fled 12-day old, that was stirsing up the nest like crazy. I removed him. So all 5 eggs hatched Blom 3 abandoned fall 83
