Plague
(20July) Avery interesting watch: ①♂660 is here with J889,
both present throughout the watch. So it now seems
quite a bit clearer that ♂660 "introduced" J889 to Plague.
② ♂521 fed J889 4 times, but never by any of the
other birds, including his father, ♂660. In fact,
♀496 still has a moderate-strong dislike for J889.
♀496 chased the juvenile 9 times (at least) during
the watch. ③ Saw a very strong, vigorous dominance
interaction between ♂521 + J660. Much pecking by
the former, much chatting by the latter.
21July Slow grany census, 1105-1305. Only ♀496 + ♂521,
plus an intrusion by ♂787 of 1800.
Plague not abandoned Fall 83. By spring '84 however,
Plague contained only ♂521, as he chased helper ♂ and
♀496 away as acorn supplies dwindled.
