Acorn Woodpecker
Gate
24 April Trying hard here but with minimal success 1030-1230.
I find ♂627 (PINK/DBlue) and ♀859 M/Black
plus at least a 3rd bird. ♂626 seems to have set
up shop at Westgate with ♂855. See Westgate notes.
30 April Finally, success here. Over in the saptree live oaks
in squarenail flat, I find ♂627, ♂859, plus a
♀NB. This should be a complete census, what with
♀854 at OK corral (see Denise's notes) and ♂626 &
♂855 at WGate.
24 May Amazing good luck here. I walk up from Pipolix at
0730 + find 4 birds perched on the same branch:
♂627, ♀NB, ♂854, ♂859, all seen well. ♂854
is back after an aborted attempt to move to
OK Corral. See my OKC notes, → Denise's notes.
No sign of any nesting activity.
