1984 R.L. Mumme Acorn Woodpecker Blomone 9 March ** GROUP UPDATE ** ① Juv 920 NSA B 12 July, 1983 ② Blomone (♂492, ♂830, ♂832, 9808, 9809, J921, J922) abandoned: 25 Aug 1983 ± 6 weeks, All birds were seen 12 July gone 10 Oct. 11 March Walking past at 0920, Philip + E see ♂717 Yellow-Red/Yellow of CU Grade, exploring the granary, poking around in storage holes, having it all to himself. Philip watched here 9 March and didn't see anybody. Whether he sticks around remains to be seen. 5 April A look here, 1245, reveals a single Bald eagle ♂ whose bands I read as M/Black. Sounds like it could be ♂492 returning, but I'll need a better look to eliminate the possibility of ♂571. No evidence of other birds around. 46 acorns remain in the Styrofoam. 7 April 34 Acorns and no birds here at 1200. Philip waiting for 2 hours from the blind and saw nobody. 9 April A quick look here or awidy, chilly afternoon, E find a FNVB alone in the granary. 2 acorns remain here 12 April Passing by last night I saw a lone bird here, but E find nothing 0830-0900 26 April Very breezy watch 0900-1000. I see ♂492 M/Black, ♂812 DBIut / Black -pink 9808 or /, and ♀ 809 M / (while 9812 is sight elsewhere). This is the same situation. Philip reported 23 April, though I saw 9812 + 9808 at CU Grade the same day. Also saw 9854 of Gate intruding here. (Note: By this date, 9854 was probably moving to OK Coral
