1983 R.L.Mumme M. formicivorus Dark Hollow 6 June Nest check, 0645. Hatching, and my timing is perfect. Eggs ② - ⑤, Both belonging to ⑥96 (her only two eggs) have hatched. Both marked with Blue Sharpie on the right leg. Egg ③ is pipping, and eggs ④ + ⑥ look like they should hatch. Good deal! ⑥96's eggs must have a shorter development time. This also underscores why it's important to throw out your own rants eggs, as ⑥95 has fallen behind here 7 June Nest check: 4 nestlings: Eggs ③×④ have hatched (marked with Blue Sharpie) and ⑥ is pipping. ⑥96's 2 young remarked with Blue Sharpie on right leg. 11 June 1100 : 5 nestlings, on the way out DGrn - C Pink (Right Blue Sharpie ⑥496) Yellow - Black (" " " ⑥496) 28 June Big disappointment. Here to band the young at 1600, I find the nest completely empty. Probably failed ~ 15 June or so. What's more, Dark Hollow still has across. Hard to figure what happened here. Predation? I should watch her tomorrow AM. June 29 [illegible] ** GROUP UPDATE ** ① ⑥823 disappeared (± 6 weeks) (Last seen on 3 Dec 82, certainly gone by 23 March) 30 June Watching 0800 - 0945: No sign of a new nest, and only ⑥584, ⑥695, ⑥696 seen (repeatedly). Having doubts about the presence of ⑥824, and especially ⑥823.
