8/18/87 Sec 8741 will continue but observations in the area of the Scorpion Hollow Fault clearly indicate that terrestrial sedimentation occupies the interval from the top of the Judith River SS. Dominated fluvialite sequence to the top of the LANCE. No trace if the 11 bedded ssf/mudst. sequence was noted in the this interval either. The whole Meeteetse interval here looks far more "soilified" here than in the Bobcat pass area and both of these more so than in the southern Bighorn Basin. Of the three pollen samples taken none really looked promising The LANCE is really a series of relatively broad, shallow channel leuses (on order of 1/4 to 2mi) interspersed with leached "Hell creek" looking sediment. No unconformity or disconformity was observed. Fox Hills / Bear Paw interval here from APE map is flat-out wrong.
