Knoll Set
4 March
Things getting confusing here: Watched here late yesterday and
saw only a 9NB i- the trees below the Y: Today,
0920-1000, a 9NB, 8561
Yellow-BLK/m 9715 LBlue-OBlue/yellow
No sure sign of 8564 yot. Other birds, including 8660
of Plague.
Roosting, some interesting observations of 9NB
*→*
stealing acorns out of the Y granary, after the Y birds
had already roosted. See Y notes
6 March Successful ambush here in the same sycamore netting
the second (unbanded) 9, now 9716 L Pnk/m Bkt-Red
8 March Beginning to look bad for 8564 here. Watching 0930,
it takes a while, but 9715
LBlue-OBlue/yellow and 9716
L Pnk/m show up eventually in the Knoll Blue Oak. By 1030,
still no sign of 8564. Alan is watching at 1800 right
now to see if he's there
1035, further developments; 8669 of Y shows up
in the Knolls Blue Oak 10 tree, and gives mild chases to the
two 99, Hmm! Further evidence that 8564 is indeed gone.
Could 8669 be contemplating polygyny (299 at Y, 2at knoll?)
Will have to keep on top of things here.
