egg-laying by my ambush, since the clutch was
probably complete about the 29th
18 May Alan watched here 1½ hr, saw only ♂545 feed
22 May Checked the hole, 1300: 3 nice 12-13 day
old nestlings. I also looked at other holes, in
the remote chance that there may be another nest
here, too, but found nobody looking out of holes,
31 May 1230: Banded & bled 3 Nestlings
(see capture records), now Juvs. #775-777
7 June Counted stores, 1600: Fallen limbs 675

14 June 1700 I walk up here to look for a possible second
nest. Flushed several birds, and I think I heard a
fledged juvenile among them. But no sign of a second
nest

27 June A quick look here 0715, Very quiet. Only ♂545
seen, and no sign of a second nest. Still some acorns
around

These birds ran out in a hurry.
