1982 R.L.Mumme 6a Melanerpes formicivorus Lambert Nest Record 5 May Find ♂ looking out of the new hole in the holey Fenceline tree, 1700. Opened hole: 6 eggs eggs about 8 days ± 2 days. One egg badly damaged, hole in shaped, all liquid drained. That egg removed, leaving 5, which seemed OK. 8 May Opened hole, 1400 5 eggs marked & measured ① 23.9 × 18.7 ② 24.7 × 18.3 ③ 24.0 × 19.1 ④ 24.3 × 18.5 ⑤ 23.5 × 19.0 removed 6th egg 23.4 × 19.3 11 May Eggs have hatched! 22 May Opened hole, 1300: 3 nestlings eyes beginning to open, ~12 days: No sign of other eggs or young. 31 May Banded 3 fine nestlings, now Juvs 775-777.
