Munne Melanerpes fornicivorus Blom 3 Nest Record 2 May ♂ looking out of upper hole of the Blue Oak hole tree; Peeped in, 1800: 5 eggs 5 May Opened hole, 0930 5 eggs ~ 8 days 11 May Walked by 1000. Eggs have hatched. 20 May 1630, heard babies while walking by 30 May 1100 Banded 3 young, J767- 769 June (fledged (juvs seen here flutter in passing) 2 July 0915, adult flushed from lower hole in the Blue Oak hole tree Opened hole, 0930 4 eggs quite fresh, no more than 2-3 days at most 19 July 0945, Nobody in hole, no baby noises. Failed? 24 July Checked hole, 1730. Still 4 eggs NEST ABANDONED One egg broken open, nice intact, undeveloped yolk. Suspect abandonment occurred on or shortly after 2 July. Eggs still marbled + quite fresh, as they were then. 3 eggs returned to nest, 0- off chance that they represent a new clutch. Acorns still present! Juvs 767, 768, 769 all seen at Blom 2, 24 July,
