Mela-erpes formicivorus
Low Hay
16 July Good watch here, 0730 - 0930: 7 dominance interactions!
Basically, I saw J772 peck everybody (770 3 times,
771 once, 774 once), and so he is definitely the dominant
juvenile. I also saw J770 peck at 774 twice, so
J774 is probably the subordinate juvenile. I still
lacks J771-774 and J770-771 interactions,
before I get a full table. J773 is certainly gone
19 July 0720 - 0920, OK dominance watch. Didn't see
either of the two interactions indeed, but I saw
J772 peck J771 3 times, and 772 pecks both
770 & 774 once each. 8461 + 9524 seen, but not
9587.
28 July 0550, watching for juv dom. 0750, not very
successful. All 4 surviving juveniles (770, 771, 772, 774)
plus 8461 + 9524. 9587, however, is missing once
again. A ♂ + ♀ NB intruder were here early, but
closed out.
16 Aug Counted stores, 0800:
2°g 2
1°g 800
800 TOTAL
Doing pretty well, considering the late date.
21 Aug OK watch here, 0720 - 0930: 8461, 9524, J770, 771,
774 all here, but 9587 is now conspicuously absent,
as is, surprisingly, the dom. J772. Both may well be gone
Also, I got a few very iffy hints about dom. 771 may be
dom over both 770 + 774: Both gave way to 771 on branches
But by no means conclusive.
