Last seen at 1800 / Sept, present at [illegible] before 19620 Oct 1981 9 Feb Counted stores, 1500, Fallen Limbs 330 Odd spots 175 main granary 1220 1725 TOTAL A sample of ~40acres taken from the fallen limb, a. replaced with a roughly equivalent # of my own. 3 Feb 1500, Alan watches from the usual spot, while I share birds around over near 1500. Together, we get a complete census: I see 476, 347, 562; He sees 193, 695, 696, 561. See his notes for additional details. 27 March Lots of 1800 birds at the knoll again. Infant, 193 gave 564 a gentle peck to the head, as the two were perched together. 193 eating an acorn. One of very few instances of ♀♀ dominating old male helpers! 561, 562, 695, 696 all see well. 347, 476 not seen. End 1520.
