July 13, 1984 Haughton Astrobleme Rained x windy all day Visited by Haughton River Geophysicists abt. 11 am who brought warm fresh BAKED RASIN OATMEAL COOKIES from their camp 2 meters away. Spent much of morning brain- Storming on Arctic as center of pebrisorocetyl evolution & other ecological/adaptive aspects of early Tertiary BIOTA. Decided that high crowned serratomorph teeth of early ferrisoids let them grind up tough arctic veg. Especially during winter when only Twight x hrs. were available. Distinguished between Animal groups originating in Arctic (Pebrisos) & those merely radiating in from elsewhere (Coryphodont)
