7/18/84 Haughton to Lake Hagen. Packed camp at Haughton and were picked up at 3:30 by Dunk (Richard D. Duncker) in F-15. Flew low over Collin Archer Peninsula, Graham Island and the shore of eastern Axel Heiberg and to Eureka. Due to bad snow storms which made following his course on an air navigation chart one saying that he just got lucky sometimes in locating himself. Magnetism had at Eureka while we refueled. Flew up 6 mile mile 7 Blacktop Ridge to Smiley F and flew from the head of Smiley across its pass to the Lake Hagen drainage. Dunk flew just above the ground and close to its cliffs. Arrival at "Amber Point" camp at 9:00. Dunk left us after came in low on a steeping run and made a skillful stop in landing. Magnetism had had.
