15 April Start 0650 0738, ♂S21 drumming up at cabin utility pole. 0750, ♀496 takes a look into the 1980 nest hole. 0803, 3 birds fly up over adobe hill. I think it was ♂S21 first, then ♀494 (1 min later), then ♂473 as a much delayed follower. 0805, ♂473, ♀494, ♂S21 fly back.
0825 Stopping here for a while. My guess is that the Buckeye canyon nest was a "dump" or "practice" nest, and has already been abandoned. Of course, I'll have to check with Walter on that to be certain.
0900--Whoops. Relieving Walter. ♀494 did indeed lay an egg here at around 0630. End 1009 Walter arrives with the news that an egg (presumably laid by ♀496) showed up in the 2° tree hole.
1245 Relieving Byron at 2° nest (with ♀496 eggs).
1400--Nothing happened, relieved by Mary.
1600--Starting watching for behavior. Very dull. a break to look for Byron. At 1815, the birds fly up to Water tank Hill, I am able to see all 4 of them moving around in the live oaks there until about 1845, when I lose them. Nothing seen at roosting. A pair of birds came into the 2° granary briefly, and some Parrots at Adobe Hill, but that was all.
16 April Start watch at 2° granary hole (1 egg, by ♀496) in the nest
0623 ♂S21 looks in (5 sec).
