Munne Melanerpes formicivorus Buckeye 9 Jan Start watch 1110, Not using blind, just wandering below and above granary, 8619 Yellow/LG 8234 CBlue/W-OPK 08blue/Yellow-LBlue 0252 metal / all seen OK, plus at least 2 other birds. As usual, extremely shy. I find a nice place to watch 75m uphill of the granary. 23 March Start from hide at granary, 1020. 1100 8252 DBlue/Yellow-LBlue Metal / and 8619 Yellow/LGreen show up in the granary with, lot behold, a 8NB. the unbadged 8 looked a little nervous, but was not chased by either 8252 or 8619. Then, at 1105, the 8NB starts Karriting, whereupon good old 8483 R-DBlue / R-DBlue shows up and chases out the 8NB. 1130, 8504 wht-Red/DBlue-w(2) turns up 1230 Nothing more. End watch. 19 April A walk up here to check holes at 1800. Nobody looking out anywhere. However, I did see a "pack" of 3 birds fly into the granary before they spotted me and took off. Could this be 8234, 8252, or the 8, with 8424 indeed gone? Red-DBlue/Red-DBlue 31 Aug A quick little watch, 0745-0845, 8483 DBlue/ 8252 M/Yellow-LBlue, and J665 M / Yellow Black in full adult 8 plumage. Aren't there going to be any 88 this year. Also a 8NB intruder seems to be lurking around.
