Further note: Over at UA2 is none other than
♀632 Red-wht/Red-wht
metal / " , the ♀ that Walter banded
here in October, 1980. Thus, she did not disappear
in March, but rather abandoned (lack of acorns?), went
somewhere for the spring and summer, then showed up
here. The creep.
2 Nov Trying here again 0900. Some sign of life: A very few
acorns are stored in the "holey" Valley Oak, none that
I can see in the fallen limb.
1015. Still a mess here. A ♀UB and a ♂NB
here briefly. I give up. I will NOT watch here until
a lot of acorns are stored. There's a live oak next
to the granary just loaded with acorns, so perhaps the
"residents" (if there are any) are going to wait until the
last minute.
10 Nov A walk up here, nothing has changed: At most, 20 acorns
are stored in the fence line granary. No acorns are stored in
either the broken top tree or the fallen limb. The
Valley Oak acorn fall is nearly complete, too. And the acorn
laden Live oak 10 M S of the fence line tree, its acorns are
starting to redden + mature. They should certainly begin
falling, soon. Is Lambert abandoned? Bad news for
habitat saturation, if it is!
