1981 R.L.Munne Melanerpes formicivorus ARF too (24 May) well (I think she even removed a fecal sac), and ♂635 mauve/Red listed on Warp 5, feeds & broods young here. ♂635 was one of the 2♂ ambushed at Warp 5 in December, ambushed at ARF2 in January, So now it looks like we can consider him an ARF2 bird that was roosting at Warp 5, rather than vice versa. 1730, 2 more visits by QNB, (one with a (FS) removal) and one by ♂NB. End 1730. Will have to watch here some more. 30 May Start watching nest 0920. Same 3 birds seen here as before | ♂NB | ♀NB & ♂635 mauve/Red. Perhaps that's all there is? Nest watch details on back. 6 June Based 2 basics here, 1700. (See capture records for 687, 688). Hole angle -30°, direction 65° 13 June Nest watch here, basics looking out (or at least 1 baby). 1140-1300 ♂635 at first was the only bird coming, leading me to wonder @ if the NB♂&♀ have a second nest elsewhere, or ⑤ One nestling has already fledged, and the NB birds are otherwise occupied with them. Will be worth checking other holes before too long. The ♂NB did feed a great deal late in the watch. 24 June Tried to watch roosting here from the east of the field. Heard a few harriers along Arm Road, but nothing else. I checked holes later, and I don't think anybody roosted in the ridge hole, the quarry Valley Oak Hole, or the Blue Oak hole or the Bee hole. Watched roosting at the rest 21 June, nothing there either.
