(9 June) I also saw a dominance interaction between ♂537 and ♂618.
They were together on one of the Valley Oak storage limbs,
when ♂537 gave ♂618 a gentle tap on the head. ♂618 chattered
and covered slightly.
11 June Finally get around to checking the 2nd nest to measuring
the eggs here. Still 4 eggs, and it looks like all might hatch
(1) 24.9 x 19.5 laid 1 June (possibly 31 May)
(2) 24.4 x 20.1 2 June
(3) 24.7 x 19.9 3 June
(4) 24.7 x 19.4 4 June
Expect hatching to commence 13-14 June.
13 June Nest check, 1815. 4 eggs, no hatching yet.
14 June Nest check 1445. still 4 eggs, no hatching yet.
15 June Nest check 1415. Synchronous hatching! All 4
eggs have hatched, presumably early today, so an
11-day (exactly) incubation period.
21 June Nest check 1615. 4 babies doing well, 6½ days old
