(7 may) Then Walter shows me how to work the camera
at Low Hay, then I check upon 1800 + S Hill
West, then open the nest at 1800, count the eggs
at Gate, then watch 1800 through roosting.
8 May Early morning watch at Low Hay, complete with a
runt egg at the roost hole, which I manage to
break. Oh, well. Nest check at School Hill,
then dinner at Wills' and "The man in the white
suit" at the library.
9 may Another early AM at Low Hay, then peeping
nest checks at 1800 + Reaching nest checks at Gate
3 trips up Haystack today, waiting (in vain) for
an egg laid by 9524 to be tossed.
10 May Frustrating morning at Low Hay, but followed by
good news that 9523 tossed 9524's egg (see Low Hay).
Called mom + Bob, napped, transcribed tapes,
roosting at Low Hay
11 may Another day, another egg tossed at Low Hay
(unfortunately, missed by Byron) napping, nest
checks at 1500 + 1800, then another late water at
Low Hay. Successful roosting at 1800.
12 may Excellent early watch at Low Hay. Then the
usual relaxing, napping, note-transcribing, and
notebook organizing until roosting at School Hill.
13 May Both 99 lay at Low Hay today, ending egg-tossing
Nest check at Gate, I find a nest at Gazebo,
and watch poorly at Blow-ose. Nest check S Hill.
