very top of the large Valley Oak, 50 meters downstream
of the burned 1980 nest tree. Throws out wood chips,
3-4 times. She leaves 1236. ♀1313, ♀383 enters
Valley Oak hole. 1326, ♀269 + ♂486 fly to

18 April Starting watch from PO Hill at 0610. At 0620,
♀269 flies from granary to new Valley Oak hole.
Looks suspicious at the cut (I opened the hole
yesterday afternoon. Very thin walls, hole not held
together by very much at all). Then hitches to the
top of the stub, starts backfilling. 0626, ♂486
looks into VO hole, ♀269 still at top of stub.
0630 0640, ♀269 in vicinity of Black Oak nest
hole. 0645, ♀269 at hole, looking in. After
looking at hole, ♀269 enters at 0648! Leaves
without egg at 0650.
→
0651 ♀269 enters again; ♂486 at hole (above) with
♀269. Immediately ♀269 leaves carrying
an egg laid by her sister, ♀383! Hot Dog!
Egg carried to granary, left there (stored?), I think!
0655, ♀269 enters Valley Oak hole. Looks
out at 0702. Back down 0705, ♂486. 0710, ♀269 looks out
