1981 R.L. Munne Melanerpes formicivorus Westgate 29 June Trying here 0715. This time I again see juv 692 clearly many times, and I see another juv down by Maggies. However, I read the bands on him as Metal/Dark-wht , which doesn't fit at all for J693, and perhaps was J684 from Bake. 30 Jane Here again 0545. Again, J692 pops upright away. 858 seen Sapsuking briefly from a liveoak in E Coral Field, 10yds W of Tree #145. 9599 sapsucks from the live Oak 30 meters up CV road from the granary. 0700, Pretty sure now that only 1 juvenile is present Here, despite earlier impressions. 21 Aug Watching here 0730. 858 Corn/Corn Moley still hanging in here. looks fine. A9 and a Juv also seen, but no bands yet; 0830, 459d M/LBlue-Red, J692 LBlue-DBlue/DBlue-LBlue both Here as well. J693 must certainly be gone, not seen after Banding. Lots of intruders here, though, ( 9RB, ad at least one juv. Intruder Light-Dark/Metal Orange/Light-yellow, which I think was probably J687 from ARF2. Confirm, he shows up again J687 or-Blk/Metal or-white/wht-yellow Chased out by J692. He's being awfully persistent Here, I wonder if funny things have been happening at ARF2. End 0840. 5 Oct Watching here 1440-1555, complete census. Corn/Corn 858 Moley , J692 DBlue-LBlue/DBlue-LBlue, and 9599 metal / all here. J692 may be molting into Plumage, but I should check again in 2 weeks or s0 to confirm. It appears that these birds have not started to store yet. ** 6 Oct Purge J693, Not seen after Banding 8 June
