(18 May) 'Nest' check 1300. The 2 eggs that Walter reported
in the pond-facing hole are gone! Hole empty.
Definitely a false start.
20 May Start 0555. 0655, Nice dominance interaction
between ♂493 + ♂622. The 2♂♂ and the 2♀♀ were
all together on top of the big Blue Oak (with the holes)
20 m E of the small dry cattle pond. ♂493 gave ♂622
some very sharp, hard pecks (4-5), to the head of
♂622. At the same time I believe that I saw
♀648 chattering to ♀649, Would like to nail down
that relationship.
Looks like ♀649 has a nice strong double mustache
on both sides of her head, while ♀648 has a much
cleaner face, with only the slightest hint of a single stash.
End 0800, No interest in any holes. I believe
that I saw somebody really trying to peck ♀648 away
from a main storage limb, with ♀648 chattering
away. Wasn't sure if it was ♂ or ♀ aggressor.
22 May Watch 0610-0745. No interest in any holes. Only
thing of note was dominance intention: ♂492 pecked
hard at ♂622, in the granary.
24 May Start 0610, 0700, Up until now ♂492 + ♀649 have
been alone in the granary. ♂493 + 622 (process ♀548)
→ Fly in from Blom 2. ♂492 then pecks hard, even climbing
on back, at ♂622. ♀649 present, 21m away,
in top of granary, 0730, Quitting. Birds all up on Haystack flat.
Still no interest seen in any holes. When will they?
