Low Hay
10 May Start watching 80 hole at 0535 (actually 0435).
0526 9524, then 461 enter hole, both leave 0528
0550 after checking hole, still the 0.2 marked egg,
9524 did not lay at 0526.
0641, 582, the now homeless 8 from Blome-one (Bpats/Neare)
intruding here, chased out by 461. No doubt attracted
by 9604's garricking, etc.
0740, a huge chase, involving 3 chasers (8307 in the
lead) at 8 I chase (9604, I would bet!) 8307
took the lead in the chasing
0800, Back after checking the roost hole. Dammit,
the run egg, still there, but somebody laid today.
That egg marked #1, measured (26.0 x 21.1 mm)
I bet it was laid by 9524, who was disturbed enough
by Walter + I stumbling around in the granary early
to go dump her egg elsewhere. The only time I saw
birds in the area of the roost hole was between
0550 ad 0610, so I'd bet laying occurred then. I left
the rope ladder up at that hole in an attempt to discourage
birds from going into that hole, since we won't be watching it.
1000 9565 from 1800 here.
1115 Bagging it. Lots of action in the 80 nest hole, but
birds are being very difficult to watch.
Janet reports 9524's egg thrown out around
noon by 9523. See her notes. Suspected to have
been eaten. Roosting, I take the rope ladder down
from the roost hole (today's egg still there) Walter
