Moving around the 2° area, now over in the watch tree, where F heard her yesterday 0640, 8307 over here, chasing a bird (I suspect 9604, as yesterday) to the extreme S-E of the old Upper Haystack area. 0730, No garricks since then, 8307 must have done the trick. 0810, 9524 looks into the "root hole" (lower of the 2 valley oaks with holes; hole faces south), does not enter. Also, more garricks from the top of the 2° knoll. End 0830, no-no-action. Ash-throated Flycatchers looked into the distal hole in the Upper Valley Oak, but -- wait a minute 0840, 9604 Red-wnt/81t "" , after peering into the root hole a couple of times, She enters at 0845, Stays until 0850 Still garricks (even a few times while in hole). Garricks from the watch tree, no doubt 9604 again 0610, 9604 looks into BlueOak hole, garricks Several times while looking in. 0750, 9524 looks in the 1980 nest hole for a few min. does not enter. End 0840. Both 96 have been to the 1980 nest a few times, looking in. Also a few peeks in the 1979 nest by 3461 + another bird. 3-4 times birds flew off toward the root hole, giving me cause for concern about that hole.
