10 Feb Walter + I stroll around with John Enlen early, then I do
a census on School Hill, and a watch at Lower Haystack.
A 6-mile run with Nancy. Warm, very spring-like day.
Lots of moths of some kind flying through the oak wood/ly.
11 Feb Cloudier, but still warm. I watch at Rd 3, 1800, bake
cookies + dinner, and a 5-mile run with Nancy. Nice
after-dinner conversation.
12 Feb I do a census on School Hill, then go up to the Arnold,
for unsuccessful day watches at SOBO + BO, but successful
roostings at SOBO and LA2
13 Feb Windy, cloudy, a trace of rain in the AM. I work on Joste
tal with Nancy, clean up, change mandolin strings, go
shopping with Nancy. Return, go for a run (5 miles), find
out that Kurt, Stan + tal are not coming for a visit this
weekend. Bummer. JoAnne up for dinner
14 Feb Not much today. A poor watch at Road 1. Worked
on Joste et al. Progressive dinner in the evening
15 Feb More work on Joste et al. At lunching w/ [illegible] dining at
[illegible] Run part way up Arnold
16 Feb Partially successful ambushes set at LA2 SOBO,
in the afternoon. I picked up bags early. Joste
tal some more
17 Feb Partial ambush success at LA2, Walter + I patch
up Westgate grassy. Trip into town for CNPS
18 Feb Wash, try to fix bins, Nancy leaves for Berkeley. Ambush SOBO
19 Feb Long ambush at SOBO, 3 birds. nap, poor watch at
Finch. Prep for leaving for Berkeley.
