1981 R.C. Munn Melanerpes formicivorus 4 1500 (17 may) Small ones of 11 may were the two that disappeared. Left leg Red-Or (defective 3rd toetail (claw)) 34.0 g Manue-BLK 42.0 g L Green - Or 36.5 g Not banded 25.3 g All 4 should Fledge, I would think. 28 May Routine nest watch 1010-1210. However, ♂622, who was certainly at Blom One 26 may, was here helping at the nest!! 5 trips, feeding young, wakaiing with ♂297, etc., His days at Blomone may be over. 8 June Photo session here in the afternoon. All 4 adults 500 feeding nestlings. 18 Aug Start 1050. 1215, Lots of news! The first bird I find here turns out to be ♀601 Green/Yellow Metal/ wnt-Lgreen of Gate. She looks like she belongs here all right, although I did see her open-wing waka with ♂297 Yellow≠Dgra/Or. Looks bad for ♀435. She must have died during mid July (last seen 3 July). Also, Juv 676 (still in Juv. plumage) here, but I was sure I saw ♂297 chasing a juv around the Blue Oak flycatch perch tree, where are the other Juvs and ♂622 at ♀623,? What about J678, seen at Blom 2 4Aug? Was his movement over there precipitated by the new ♀ arrival here? End 1310. Only those 3 birds seen. In fact, I saw 3 fly off way downstream along Big Creek, toward Horsetail, and I got no other hint of anybody else nearby. Note. I saw ♀601 at Gate on 16 July, so I suspect she moved about 1 Aug ± 2 weeks.
