Climate is not fixed entirely - changes are occurring.
Valleys are particularly good for ecological study.
Mixture of plains + mountain vegetation.
Flood plain vegetation - willows - alders etc.
Mesic in valley.
South slope = xeric (pine)
North slope more or less mesic.
Pines & firs mixed in with pine.
