10-20-38 Anemone cylindrica Gray G 401; BvBII 79 Fl. Roadside southward (where seen in #6-29-38 v lates). Cf with A. virginiana from near house. Not sure ident because of shape of lvs & lobes of heads (much less prickly, wool white & showing more plainly between the styles. Shape of heads to test now that achenes are beginning to fall). But note: in several plants resemble A. virginiana in that earliest peduncle only is naked, later 1-2 having a 2-lobed involucres. 10-20-38 Solidago serotina Ait. G 796; BvBIII 394 Fl. Just north of drive. St very smooth, + purple, + glaucous lvs smooth. Inv 4 mm high. Rays about + 10. Ident seems? 10-20-38? Aster lateriflorus Britton G 811; BvBIII 427 Fl ups just no of drive. Very like ill Walton 275 but not like ill W.F. (N.Y. Pl 246 B). Fl ½ in diam overall, sessile. Disk fls purple. 10-20-38 Tanacetum vulgare L. G 848; BvBIII 52 & Fl. Due Vince borders. 10-23-38 ?? Aster ericoides L. G 810; BvBIII 430; Walton 168 Fl. Very frequent along road. Bracts green at tip
