At first sight R.A. thought G. t - (as remembered from Swisse) v or studying it finds nothing to the contrary but evidence too slight for certainty. St. green. Vstriped with darker green lines, 7-17-38 Helianthus divaricatus L. G 835; BVBIII 483 Early fl. Near Gypsum Cornes. Perhaps on land of B. Peice. 7-17-38 Berberis vulgaris L. G 413; BVBII/27 No fl. fr. woods south house towards south boundary. No spines. But, in add. to general correct look, wood yellow, petioles jointed. Some glossy very glossy round at apex. Idem. sure. [7-25-38 No fl. fr. In woods just no. of drive v west house. Has spined. 7-17-38? Prunus virginiana L. G 498; Hough 281 = Padus nana Roemer BVBII 329 No fl. fr. On walk south boundary to Herbert Rock, just on B. Peice land. Carefully cf. with undoubted P. v - 7-15-38. Same in shape flw., teeth, glandule. The only dif.: low leaves smaller so that general effect is lighter v daunter and low green (pale?) rather than whitered on the back. Inner bark less stung rather acid smell, poss same as P. v - 7-15 but difficult to compare.
