acute to very obtuse or rounded; base of tune or rounded. General effect is far more brooded than R.B.K. associates with blueberry (because of acquaintance with V. pennsylvanicum in W.F.L.). Shape of loo inimitable [7-28-38 Bud Onwood id shortly above its crossing of south boundary same place as 7-17 (also elsewhere in woods)] 9636 7-19-38 ? Lespedeza procumbens Michx. G 523, BUB II 403 No fls fr. Woods near south boundary. Found (as remembered 7-19) in several place among mats. Stems softly downy with almost hairs (hairs on lower part just tend to point downward but are not appressed). Stipules setaceous, 2 mm. long. Lfts about 2x1.5 cm, exactly as desc. BUB [7-28-38 Early fl'd with D. rotundifolium]. Same place as 7-17 9637 7-17-38? Lespedeza frutescens Britton G 534; BUB II 406; W.F.Q.V.Y. 150 Very early bud. Woods just near Gypsum corner or perhaps on R. Peice land. Looks very like ill W.F.Q.V.Y. Lfts green, glabrous above, paler appressed pubescent beneath. St appressed pubescent. Stipules setaceous, 3 mm long, also appressed.
