C. alpina. 8-27-31, Plants 13-20 cm high with rid lobation C. l. due to st glabrous v reddish at nodes, lv glabrous (as desc SVTI) thinn more nearly pluming sharper to thed vs arranged that plant base flat-tipped look under the infl. Minute bracts present (as desc 8-27-31 loosely lax when tip usually much less than 1/6 mm. Sepals 3mm, petal, 3mm or rather less. Petals plainly "in coin" as cf with the rounded base of C. l.- Ovary less nearly spherical than in C. l- and the neck (under opened fl) is rather more than 1/2 as long as ovary (ie neck 1mm as in C. l, ovary less than 2 mm. In C. a- cf 8-27-31 this neck practically nil.) Disk less prominent than in C. l.- Stigma distinctly 2-lobed Young fr def 2-celled w/2 with ovule in each cell. Plants erect from horizontal root stock (about same thickness as st. From two underground root stock arise very slender pinked runners with tiny distant pairs of opp scales. st glabrous below the t gland-pubt infl. Petioles given dlicate brs w/with short up-curved hairson margins (C. l- has sts & pet pub all around with short spreading leaves brs.
