Fern
? Cheilanthes Corellei Maxon T 82; M 8.
Collected at Cliff Dwellings beyond Roosevelt Dam. Dried
specimen studied 7-21-39.
Fronds 6cm long. Agree exactly with desc. vill(M.) v
desc(T). (Note: C. Pringlei Dav. Ham. 17 discarded as pos.
sibility because "somewhat wooly with short hair hairs

scales. R.B.T. considers ident prob correct but can't
be sure using only California manuals.
12-22-38 Selaginella
Macrosppores with above. Poss. S. Wrightii Hieron Ham
17 whose desc. not sufficient. St (as collected) 12cm.
long, prostrate, much branched, not flattened,
fusely rooting on under side. Lvs 1-1+mm lanceolate
with short, sterile bristle tip (broken?) in most
cases when studied 7-21-39), ciliate with short distant
cilia on edges. Sporophylla similar but broader
[illegible] to 2 mm]
at base. Only macrospores found. Strobili fairly
numerous and not conspicuously different from
sterile branches (in this dried condition)
