Batrachospermum #1 for Sitchell R. Coeruleaens, Smith Abundant in Island Brook near its mouth at Berkshire Pond. First Collected in Dec. 1888. April 7 '89, Collected young plants on which W.A. Sitchell pointed out trichogyne with pollinoids attached. - Collected frequently thereafter till March '90. Sitchell by his letter of Oct. 29 '89 says it is "to all intents & purposes" B. Coeruleaens, Sitchell" See mounts & alcohollic specimens. Found this species also in Ash Creek - in the drill race below Muddy Pond.
